False Cape Bikepacking trip

Troop 114 went on a 2-night bike-packing trip from September 29th to October 1st to False Cape State Park. It was truly an unforgettable experience. The park is located on the Virginia coast and boasts a beautiful beach, miles of hiking/biking trails, and plenty of wildlife.

On Friday we started our journey down to the camp grounds from Sandridge Beach. We biked around six miles through gorgeous Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge until we finally arrived at our camp grounds. The soft sandy ground was comfy to sleep on and some people even slept outside with their hammocks when they knew the weather would be nice.

We spent our days biking through the forests and marshes, taking in the stunning scenery, and hanging out with our fellow scouts. We also did a beach clean-up that Saturday the 30th and departed on Sunday the 1st.

Overall, this was a really fun trip and we all had lots of good memories and bonding times from it. this is one of our most favorited trips and it’s one that we all look forward to going on each year!
